It’s more similar to Python than to Objective-C. In practice, though, Swift Playground is quite different from Objective-C. In principle, Swift Playground is similar to Objective-C, but in practice they’re pretty much the same thing. Swift Playground is an experimental programming language that was designed to be used with the Apple App Store. They’re taking a step towards writing code that is not just as complex as they can make it, but simpler. So when Apple started using Swift Playground, they were basically saying that they’re doing something about this problem. They have thousands of lines of code and when you start adding features or adding features to new features, it just gets worse and worse. The problem is that there are thousands of these apps that are really complex. It’s like they have a new toy in their hands, and they know they could replace all the code in the whole device with this game. I think that might be why Apple is so excited about Swift Playground. They just make sure the code is modular enough to work together. They get updated with new features, but they don’t actually change the code very much.

I mean, when you think about it, this is exactly what happens in Apple products. In addition to Swift Playground, we also used the great Swift Playground editor to help us create a working app with a light. That’s a pretty ambitious undertaking, especially when you consider how much code it takes to make a HomeKit light. We’ve used Swift Playgrounds and have been able to use the same code base to make all of our connected devices, such as lights, appliances, and garage doors, work together with our iOS and HomeKit apps. The codebase for our new HomeKit app was an enormous undertaking, but we are very proud of the results we have achieved so far.
